Dio Editor

Decade Five, company founded by a church sound-room engineer, company that specialized in automated, easy-to-use audio-recording solutions, has two products to offer and both of them carry the Dio moniker. First there’s the Dio Recorder mobile app for iOS; it can be used to schedule, record, and upload audio presentations from an iDevice. Then there’s Dio Editor, a desktop application for Windows and Mac; it can be used to edit audio tracks.

As mentioned above, Dio Editor is available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple's Mac OS X. Focusing on Windows alone, it must be mentioned that thanks to a simple setup wizard you will very, very quickly get Dio Editor up and running on your Windows PC.

And since we’re talking about wizards it is worth noting that Dio Editor has a wizard-like interface. The interface will "guide you through the process of extracting spoken content from an audio recording". And more to the point, it will take you through the following steps: select and load an audio file; select the part you want to extract, pick the default fade length, enter a custom file name format; choose where you want to save the extracted audio file; choose if you would like to upload the audio file to the web.

In the About menu, Decade Five says that Dio Editor is best used with Dio Recorder.
Dio Editor is not free, it is only free to try. The trial version is limited to 5 uses.
